How to Avoid the Vice of Attraction

In seeking to avoid the vice of attraction, we must not favor, flatter, or cherish other vices. Rather, we must wholly and freely call evil evil, and blame that which is deserving of blame. To speak uprightly about another person's vices, it is necessary that it be truly beneficial either for the person in question or for those to whom we are speaking. Never call dangerous familiarity simple and innocent, nor varnish disobedience with the name of zeal, nor arrogance with the nameof freedom, nor lust with the name Of friendship.
