Climate Change - Why We Need to Act Now

I don't believe we're going to hit a moment where the people, united in democratic action, force the carbon lobby other polluting and risky interests to change through legislative action. I think that model of changing the world has already failed to produce the results we need. What is happening is that there are millions and millions of people and very powerful institutions who are realizing that their direct self interest lies in acting more quickly than we're used to thinking about. The competition to create the new is at least as strong an force right now as the opposition to change in the first place.
