The Importance of Indoor Air Quality

7 million premature deaths a year are from air pollution. Particulate matter, more specifically PM 2.5, enters in the lungs and triggers inflammation which increases the risk of heart disease, stroke, lung cancer and respiratory infections. Of the 7 million people worldwide who prematurely died every year from air pollution, 3.8 million people are from indoor air pollution. It accounts for more than 3% of our global gross domestic product or $3 trillion a year due to its economic impact.
