The Effect of Priming in Early Childhood

Children learn words more quickly if they've heard another word related to that one. For most adults, the word cat and dog go together in a way that cat and table do not. So there's a sound based relationship and a meaning based relationship. The method of priming is now being used for all sorts of different aspects of the way that children connect up their lexicons.
