Women in the Early Church
Women were crucial in giving the early church a place, a literal physical and social space to function and grow and spread. There are also later stories that were written down later than the biblical narratives which describe women performing miracles or acting as apostles. So all in all, it does seem we can say women were very important, even central, in the formation of this early church in these early years. And i think there is a wonderful illustration of that also in a story that was collected into the gospel of luke, called the supper at emaeus.
