When the senate allowed a measure to be put to the vote of the Roman people and the people voted, and Salah was thus elected dictator. It's worth noting the fine print of the act, which also granted him legal immunity for all his past actions. The first step in establishing his legacy with this new office of supreme power securely in hand was to finally arrange for his triumphal entry into the city.
