The occupation is the primary political economy of Israel. It's not just this thing that they have to deal with, but an engine of growth and legitimacy for Israel. Their tactics are all over the place; you see it in favelas and the pacification units of Brazil. You see it in border technologies around the world. This was for me kind of studying the political economy of technology and of smart cities.
