Avada Catheshra's Meditation on the 18 Dartus
Early Buddhism conceived of the perceptual process in terms of six senses, usual five physical senses plus mind. Each sense has a sense organ, eye, ear, nose, tongue, body, mind. It had sense objects, colour or form, sound, smell, taste, touch, or what the mind takes hold of. The scandas are just convenient conceptual tool to slice and dice our experience in a way that's helpful - they no longer serve their function.
