Is Rising Rates Good for Banks?

Ford: The Fed has embedded trillions of dollars of losses into the market by yanking interest rates higher. He says rising rates help bank income, but they are really bad for bank book value. But that's actually usually not a problem because you don't have to mark your assets to market value. Ford: As long as no one goes and runs from, let's see, tries to take out their deposit at the same time, eventually the bank's asset values will recover.
