In the US, Ayn Rand is a big name. But in Europe, she's not. And for me also as a German writer, it was important to introduce Rand to the European mind. I don't think you can quite understand contemporary American politics with the absolute importance of Ayn Rand to contemporary right-wing and libertarian thinking. Elon Musk is a Randian. Many of the big tech guys in the Silicon Valley were highly influenced by Ayn Rand especially by Howard Rourke, this hero.
