Redesigning Spaces to Offer Rich Opportunities for Exploration

This is all around redesigning spaces to afford rich opportunities for exploration. There's a brilliant example of this in Footscray under Hopkins Bridge. People are drawn in and they start in this peripheral involvement, maybe standing on the side and then slowly giving something a go. All of a sudden health benefits become parent or their health benefits incur but it's just a by-product of participating within their surrounds. This is where urban designers, ecological psychologists, human movement scientists, local advocacy groups, state governments can come together to design parts of our surrounds that promote physical activity.
