What's the Difference Between a Public Group and a Private Group?

Facebook recently rolled out a change for public, by the way, they're no longer members. To me, I like the private group because it just feels more intimate. The share button is automatically on every post in a public group. It's an incredibly powerful tool having a Facebook group or multiples.
