Economists Are Like Pomers
Economics is concerned with technical approaches to poverty, not really development a structural transformation. Small interventions that they look at might generate some positive results but do little to challenge t the usio, bigger systems that produce the problems in the first place. In terms of theory am i think it's also problematic because economics is methods striven and method itself is quite limited. It doesn't tell us anything about the mechanisms involved.
