What Is a Standardized Digital Network?
While the achronym o stn stands for integrated services digital network, it is actually a set of global communication standards. Why is having these standards so important? Everything that we do in engineering, we want to do it as easily as possible. We want to be able to turn voice, video data into zeros and ones and then back again at the other end. And that cannot happen unless all the engineering in the technology is operating to the same set of standards.
