The Evolution of Life After Impact
You start to see the beginnings of recovery after the impact winter dies away, but still takes time. You have what we call a disaster taxa, these animals and organisms and plants that do well in just certain environments. So for example, at a hundred thousand years, more or less after impact, you see fern pollen appear in great amounts all over the world. That was kind of the beginning of sort of life beginning to really reseed and build up these forests. By a million years after you have forest growing in ways that they never did before, it's different than it was.
