The Legend of the 27 Club

In Ireland, there are legends of a "Lan and She," or fairy sweethearts. When she finds one, the artist is suddenly filled with fiery passion that fuels his inspiration. The Gaelic poet's desire for the fairy lover is so strong it literally burns him up from the inside out. To the writer, musician, or poet, life is creation bringing something new into the world to enrich others. For the Lan and She, however, this doesn't happen often; as soon as her creation starves, so does she.
