Vicki and Julianne's Disappearance

In the months leading up to Vicki and Julianne's disappearance, Vanessa noticed how critical Alan was of the two women. He accused Julianne of being a poor housewife and a bad mother. The morning before the two friends vanished, Julianne asked Vanessa to stay home from school. Terrified that her sister would hate her if she knew about the abuse, Vanessa lied and said she had an important exam.
