CHAPTER

The Experiential Dimension of Religion

I'm interested in that experiential dimension because there's the story of any particular religion and then there's the experience people have of it. You had said a minute or two ago that you felt you had this relationship with God. Do you still feel that? That feeling moved to a relationship with mystery in the universe? Did that feeling go away? Like how did the feeling inside change as this part of your life changed? Yeah, the feeling went away. I mean, I let it goBecause if there wasn't that God there, that person there and that intense sort of very literal sense of a being who cared about your every move, you had to let it go.
