Do You Think Trump Was Acting Within the Scope of His Employment as President?
E. Jean Carroll is suing Donald Trump for defamation, but the case has been split into two separate cases. At one point it looked like she was going to lose because of a procedural issue: The U.S. government should be substituted as the defendant in the first case that she filed. But then an appeals court said they would have to decide whether or not he was acting within the scope of his employment as president when he defamed Carroll. And so last week there was oral argument; you can't really call this "crazy," right? It's very odd and maybe unusual, but I don't think it's crazy.
