The Effects of Acute Sleep Loss on Physical Performance

The effects of acute sleep loss on physical performance were examined by Craig Craven and colleagues in a meta analysis. They had three different categories so they specifically had what they called sleep deprivation which is participants did not sleep for an extended period of time either a whole night or less than six hours. There's actually surprisingly a similar effect of sleep deprivation and restriction overall deprivation was 3% and restriction was like 2.77%. For strength specifically you can expect some between a 1 to 4% negative effect on on strength acutely from from sleep deprive and restriction.
