The mayor convinced a small militia to go up against the mob and try to break things up. They take their weapons and they just start breaking them over their knees, telling hem the f off in a gin vilieneer. That must have honestly been pretty humbling for those guys. The governor kind of made due with what he had and managed to get about 50 men together. Most were just a bunch of rich dudes, or men of higher stature, as they called them back then. One of them was actually alexander hamilton. His name is alexanderhamilton.
