The English Style in Ballroom Dance
Dancing was always as a kind of form of escapism that took that notion of an alternative world, if you like, to an extreme. The depiction of dancing in hollywood music halls establishs is association with the new european design ideas which helped to reinforce the idea that it represented glamour and luxury. There was a decline in ballroom dancing in the second half of the 20th century due to television ownership becoming common during the same time when cinamore attendance declined. I think there was also a increased affluence, which meant cheaper holidays going abroad rather than staying in england. We didn't mention yet but they were at potlin's for a big figure
