I think it's common probably in, you know, less extreme examples of people who excel at their job and then suddenly they get promoted into a role that requires a completely different skill set. The first thing I would say is that when that happens, that's really the moment when you know whether you love and care about your work or not. In some ways, the introverts could see that as an advantage that they're less likely to get stuck in the wrong job. But also, so the psychologist Brian Little talks about this a lot, the idea that in this service of work or people we care about, we can and do and should sometimes step out of character.
