Ayla: I feel like it is almost a form of mindfulness in that it's like being able to step outside of the situation and look at it while you're in it at the same time. And so saying to someone in so many words, you're not really being very emotional. That worked. Like just sort of just holding the mirror up to them to see what they had to say. Erica: You can apply that principle in different ways, whether it be explicitly asking about it or whether it be adjusting what you're doing to give that person what they need in that moment.
