The humanity of Jesus Christ recoils at the thought of his death, especially the horrible long and torturous death and humiliations that comes only after all of his friends abandoned him. The moment that has begun now will continue and really be on display narratively in the agony in the garden. So we pretend that Jesus loved it like he was skipping to the cross.
