Is the SPR Refilled With Heavy Blend Stock?
If we ever got into a war situation where we really did have a national security threat, you run into this problem. You can make a fair amount of gasoline out of that light oil. But in order to make the kind of fuel that you need, which is diesel and home heating oil and jet fuel and the other middle distillates, you have to blend it with heavy blend stock. Some of it comes from Canada, but most of it come from places like Iran and Iraq.
