Luma's theory is based of an analysis of the reality in Germany and as I said even though Luma studied in the United States for years or with Calcutt-Parsons in the 1950s still his horizon of experience of social reality was rather limited. The concepts are still very useful but they are not they are too idial to be should be the German word they are ideal types that aren't applicable to situation all over the world.
