The Richness of the Bible as a Tool of Cultural Critique

The Babel narrative in Genesis 11 sets up a fundamental paradigm that is then traced through the whole of the biblical witness. I think it's an incredibly rich and incisive passage for cultural critique. And the second one that comes to mind is the book of Revelation, which I'd heard preached through at my church one or two times. It's this idea of aprokalupsis, making a parent, what is veiled, ripping the veil off.
