The Importance of Infrastructure Investment

The American Society of Civil Engineers estimate 42 percent of Americans' major urban highways remain congested, costing the economy an estimated $101 billion in wasted time and fuel annually. They estimate this is a 2013 report card that needs to be $1.7 trillion to maintain existing surface transportation. In terms of new investment, it helps solve the congestion, that's by 2020. But only $187 billion would be funded, leaving a gap of $850 billion.
