The History of the Printing Press

The printing press was a machinery that allowed to print books and other documents extremely efficiently. It led to widespread literacy and education, especially of the middle class. The invention also played a key role in developments like the renaissance or reformation. And so it permanently altered the structure of society through mass communication.
