Neuroscientists and Pain

There are vast resources going into scientific programs to get the neural signature of pain so we can take a scan and decide how much pain someone's in. It would be a very attractive idea and it is being pursued right? There are people doing the same thing looking at molecular patterns within blood so taking blood tests to decide whether someone's in pain or not. We're trying to use some of the same language and that's where definition of terms as you rightly said even on nociception can make it confusing and lead to sometimes people talking past each other rather than truly engaging.
