The Moral Argument and the Efficiency Argument in Georgia

Some Georgists, they emphasize one or the other. Some people are purely in an economic model. There's no deadweight loss from taxing land because you can't get less land. And so this is where we kind of run up against intuitions. Because I'm a landowner, I own a house out in the suburbs. So I'm not here to make some kind of communist argument that we're all going to live on some hippie commune and deprive everyone of their right to control territory. We just think you shouldn't be able to leverage that to extract wealth out of the rest of the community for value you didn't create.
