The Difficulty of Estimating the Total Carbon Removal Capacity

The report estimates total current direct air capture capacity as well as I believe other methods of CDR. It was also difficult assessing how much conventional CDR is happening, even though that's existed for a long time. So about 2 million tons of CO2 is being captured by novel methods. That's two gigatons, so it's 0.002 gigatons of novel CDR. But right now those are small; they're not big enough to make big contributions.
