Birkenstock's Success Is a Lesson in Timing
Sales jumped 29% last year for Birkenstock to 1.3 billion dollars. That's four times the revenue of all birds. And that's not all because this private old company plans to IPO as soon as September according to Bloomberg. It was founded in 1774 by Cobbler Johann von Birkenstock. His great great grandson Conrad Birkenstock invented the iconic cork footbed.
