The US and the Soviet Union are now in a race, each trying to prove their own power. Each country wants its scientists to understand the universe better and first. I'll let you guess which planet becomes a key part of that race? Venus.Venus was the first place we ever sent a spacecraft beyond the Earth's moon system. The surface is hot enough to melt lead. That was the big take home from our first ever experiment at another planet. When Grinsboon says hot, he means almost 900 degrees Fahrenheit.
