The Role of Big Pharma in the NHS's Growth
The amount of money flowing through NHS has doubled since 2015 to 200 million quid and grown 26% in the year 21 to 22. So while the actual quantum isn't huge, if you think that the NHS spent 17 billion on medicines and devices, they call it in 2022,. And why should that lead the news? Because what it tells us is the nature of the relationship between private healthcare companies, GSK, etc, and individual doctors. I thought what it told us was that the observers thinking about the NHS is really reflexive and defensive.
