Mattel's Move to Give Its Most Important Brand a Major Motion Picture
Mattel has a division within its company called Mattel Films, which it was created to kind of like encourage the development and production of movies based on the brands that Mattel owns. Arp pointed out that this movie has been in the making for more than a decade; they've probably looked at dozens of proposals. If not more, the brand has never had a box office event such as this before. It's very difficult to create brands that withstand the test of time.
