assumptions are a really big deal and we in the problem with assumptions is we don't know what our assumptions are. One of the ways that we challenge perspectives and help people shake up their perspectives is by doing what we call an assumption reversal. An assumption reversal is simply going somewhere that appeals to someone or something that you're trying to understand but don't and then assuming the things in that space or that environment are built to appeal to that person  that you've admitted you don't understand all of a sudden things become apparent.
