The Life Cycle of a Trend
Prior to the internet age, a trend would be introduced to the public by some sort of media. Then they because it was less accessible. Whereas when you're on your phone, you can open up your phone and look at instogram or tik tak. The growth took a lot longer. Hitting its peak took a lot more time than in previous years. This simply being because word just used to spread a lot slower.
