The patriot act was a major, major component of that. You're dealing with a system that is designed to take away privacy and over the last 20 years, there's been a massive move in that. The united states now requires every bank in every country in the world that does any business with us. And so massive amounts of data on your activities are systematically reported to government officials all around the world. This is amassive problem on a global basis. But people who are americans, or primarily from the united states, don't often understand the pri the risk of this.
