There's not a specific scene so much as the whole millie of the books that was published in 19 30. It's kind of making fun of the it kids of that generation, the bright young things. But also, what he is doing is just showing how morally bankrupt these people often are. And i think it really is a brilliant example of how parties can be used to maintain and sustain closed social groups.
