We're not called to like discipleship devotion, holiness intimacy with Christ is not a to do list. It's all about being with Christ as Father Gregory was saying. And it doesn't matter too terribly much how we feel. What matters is that he has his way in our lives according to,. you know, his timing and his good pleasure.
