Can You Classify Someone's Language Level?

The idea that you can classify somebody's language level into six, ten, whatever, 20 categories is a useful tool in some situations. But I think that students and teachers put too much importance on that - we are very complicated creatures. And not just that, but it's kind of ridiculous to break people into these groups. So that's why that's my, my take on, on levels.
