The Impact of Macron's Backtrack on Europe
I think if Macron manages to get this reform through, and if the protests fizzle out, I think he, I think it will wash off. But if he has to backtrack, I do think it will affect his international standing. There's certainly not a perception either in Berlin or in Eastern Europe that Macron is the defacto leader of Europe. It's worth remembering that it doesn't look from, from the outside, like France is really working very well.
