The Earth's Mantle

The earth's mantle is a layer of this planet about a thousand kilometers thick. It sits just below the thin crust that we live on and call the ground. Down in the mantle there are all sorts of elements, metals and minerals but they aren't spread out evenly. The reason it's because of the way the mant interacts with massive sections of the surface sitting above it.
