Pakistan's debt capacity is much larger than it is right now, says Arsalan Iftikhar. The country has been tapped out by external factors such as the war in Ukraine and rising oil prices. Pakistan also faces a more expensive dollar and less access to the bond market due to interest rate cuts from the U.S., he adds. "I don't doubt that they have an idea that things are not as rosy for them this time round," said Iftikar.
