How Many Sound Changes to Make Per Hundred Years?

Linguists have been trying to figure out how many sound changes they can make per hundred years or whatever. But the thing that matters more, I think here is less than an actual timeframe. Then that you get the order of the sound changes sequenced properly. And those things have to be gotten in the right order otherwise your rules don't make sense.
