The Power of Adversity
Some of the most decent pure and kind kids at the high school used to work out with the kids that it suffered the most. They had an empathy for others and a willingness to be compassionate to others because adversity had put into their souls. We lost a kid over home pass over Christmas who was shot by a Philadelphia police officer and his name was Stacy. I remember just feeling like what we're giving these kids here at the school although it's good it's not enough to keep them from getting in trouble on the streets.
