Siegfried Sassoon wrote about six volumes, autobiographical fiction and fictional autobiography. Why was he dwelling on himself so closely? The Petulary Invention. It's actually a symptom of the First World War survivor. Edmund Blonden says a time lost to go over the ground. Each time what he does is reinvent the wartime period where I think the contradictions are too much to handle in some way.
