Is There a Difference Between a Studio and a Recording Studio?

i've had one good experience in a studio, where i was tasked with just doing stuff. There's certainly something to be said for the communal experience of being in a room together. The best thing about university was having time that it just gave me time and a bit of focus and purpose to do a thing,. I think that's the one.
